SUBJECT : Access Server Token Ring Source Routing
DATE : 7/3/90
OS VERSION : All
REVISION :
SHELL VERSION :
GENERAL INFORMATION : The Access Server presently does not support source
routing. If you need source routing on the Access Server, there is a work
around.
First obtain a copy of the new lansup driver (.obj). Then use that driver to
generate your shell per instructions in the Access Server install. There is a
problem with this driver. It has all S's in the stack. These must be
replaced by zeroes. To do this, load DEBUG (type DEBUG IPXSPX.SYS). Debug will
come up with a '-'prompt. Use the "D" command to display the data. You see the
start of the S's on the first or second page of data. Note the address of the
first S. Use the "E" command (type E address) to change at least the first byte
of S's to zeroes. Then use the "W" command (type W) to write out the changes
and "Q" to quit. After doing this, place ROUTE.COM in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file
and then load the Access Server as normal.
